He has escalated things via PM, and yeah, I've tweaked him there, but come on... it's so easy... as he says -- low hanging fruit, and all. In other news, my two eBay Chinesium HUDs came today -- super fast and super cheap. I won't be able to install them until early next week, but for $10 each? Hella buy. For the normal price of about $40 each? Still a really good buy. They come with a translucent reflective sheet for the windshield and a sticky thing for the dash, along with a flat cable for easy routing from the OBDII port to the HUD unit. meatpimp fucked around with this message at 22:06 on Oct 1, 2014 |

Cage posted:Take pictures please! I saw those things months ago but never found any in-use pictures. Crappy picture of a temporary installation, but here it is with the translucent sheet taped to the windshield with both front and back protective coverings still on: I tried to take a quick video, but the camera couldn't focus on the reflected image. It is nice and clear and bright, though. Perhaps a bit too bright for nighttime, I'll have to see. Both the adhesive pad that is provided for the unit to sit on and the translucent reflective sheet are way too big for this unit. Once I get it in place and see what works, I think I'll be able to cut the size of the windshield sheet by at least two-thirds... It should be very unobtrusive. It's something that I'll play with, but I don't see making it a permanent installation. One note: You can change the speed display to MPH, but the fuel consumption remains shown as liters/100km. Who uses crazy weirdo units like that??? meatpimp fucked around with this message at 13:55 on Oct 2, 2014 |

Weather station chat -- anybody use them? I've got an old Oregon Scientific WMR968 setup that is slowly dying. I've got to replace all 12 AA batteries on a 15' tall pole in the next couple days, and that's going to be the last time I do that before replacing the setup... The Oregon Scientific was okay, but never really felt good. I'm looking at a Davis Instruments replacement... anything else I should consider?

So is the Nexus 6 only sold through carriers, or is Google going to sell it directly? I was hoping for the same thing as last year, buy a new Nexus 6 and a couple Nexus 5s when they clear them out (for a few days Google was selling new Nexus 4s for $199 after the 5 came out)
