Current prison. I just got done building the various sporting centers. I really need to expand the west wing because the wall is way too close and there are constant escape attempts.

Jesus christ Maximum Security prisoners are a real handful with this new trait system. I've got 30 of them, maybe 20 of which are bona fide shipped-in-as-maxsec prisoners as opposed to lower security prisoners who were upgraded for in-prison misconduct, and now I've had numerous assaults, murders, and a riot broke out at lunch, getting 70 prisoners to participate, after a morning where an Extremely Tough and Fearless prisoner single handedly fought off a half dozen guards, killing two.

Best alpha yet :allears:

Only lovely thing is that for some reason the game charges you for body armor for each and every riot cop you call in.

I've found that you really need to use a custom regime for maxsec now. Grouping all your guys together at lunchtime is just asking for trouble now.

This update really did wonders for the game. Before it had the same deal a lot of sims get where you get everything running smoothly enough to just leave it on fast forward all day, but now there's always something to do. It's great and it's only going to get better.

Uh, when is it a micro prison? Obviously as small as can possibly work, but what kind of/number of inmates? But I doubt this will make it much easier to pack more rooms into less space.

One with this mod installed, obviously.

I imagine one of the biggest barriers to emulating real buildings is that you only get one z-level to work with. Of all the potential features they could put in the game that one is the most exciting to me but i'm not surprised they're reluctant to tackle it.

Didnt the latest alpha fix that? I could have sworn they said something about supporting multiple sprite sheets.

It did.

Reminder that capacitors should be directly next to the electric substation. :(

Capacitor's placed in the corners work, as well. I always forget about that.

Afaik bookshelves do literally nothing, though there's a mod that makes them usable for entertainment and comfort.

The way guards work could definitely use some work. I tried setting up remote access doors, and they worked fine right up until the guard went off for a break and the one who came to replace him on the door control was behind a remote access door. It wouldn't let any other guard take over the job even though the guard couldn't get to the job, so I had to open the door myself.

One thing I did to help this was to add a pressure pad right next to the remote door of the security room. Guards inside would go try and open it when another guard wants in, and in the process step on the plate to own the door. I don't think I ever had any problems with remote door shifts since I did that.
