I've got the version where the text says WHAT IS THIS I'VE SEEN IT ON TUMBLR

Since neo-folk has a pretty big crossover with goth, I suspect some of you might like Rome. He's one of the neofolk artists who doesn't have a whole suspiciously right wing/outright Nazi worship thing going on as well, so that's a bonus!

And if you're familiar with Neofolk, you should really check out Death In Rome, who do neofolk-style covers of pop songs.

Lucifer is the Light of the World - urgh this song is so good

There's an Australian group called Veloceraptor! who have a track called "Leeches" that I mistook for an Echo and the Bunnymen jam

Scanning through my goth playlist there's a lot of 'dark industrial' stuff than I realized mostly because they were always monster dance floor fillers at our terrible local Goth/Dark Alternative club 'Faith' things like Distillat by Das Ich (usually the VNV remix which is tight but not as good as the original mix), "Like a Prayer" a Madonna cover by BiGod20 got butts on floors like crazy and Dead Stars by Covenant.

What Wolfshiem "Once in a Lifetime" was always a playlist staple, they always meshed well with New Order.

And before I forget - mother loving - INKUBUS SUKUBUS, lovingly known by my older goth/pagan mates as 'Inky Sucky' - I always found their 'Vampyre' schtick more tolerable than say 'London After Midnight' perhaps because lyrically they were a tiny bit more creative but I do love LAM as well.
