The black Chaika's seemed to be way more in the know than the other Chaika's. The other ones had an instinctive desire to gather the remains but their endgame was pretty muddy afterwards. The black ones seem to have a firm grasp of what Gaz really wanted

I'm not sure why black Chaika even needed to be attached to that weird metal frame. It seems like it was a big old ball of flesh held inside the frame which then independently shot out tentacles to absorb Gaz's body parts. What's more, she seems none the worse for the experience so she couldn't have been integrated all that closely into that whole mess. Considering that she didn't explode, I don't think her reproductive system had anything to do with the process. I guess it was probably just in order to make it seem more gross without being explicit?

I don't think Gaz is all that concerned with payrolls, what with the whole 'absorb emotional energy via orbital magic fortresses in order to live forever' thing. He could probably still use an infiltration specialist to deal with all of the inevitable assassination attempts, though.

Yeah, I'd have liked another episode for pacing and to FINALLY LET FREDRICA DO SOMETHING. God drat, she just keeps getting chumped. But it really was the best way for Gaz to go out, hoist by his own Gundo. And it's nice that Red gets her own life now.

Yeah, this season needed 2-3 more episodes to actually have more of an impact in the end. Niva should have been with the group a little longer and Gaz should have wrecked more poo poo in between. It was incredibly rushed but still an ok ending by anime standards.

Obviously rushed ending, but it could have been a lot worse. I liked that there wasn't really a big moral to the story in the end. Everyone just did whatever they had to do. Niva's just like "eh don't feel like it Gaz sorry man  " and peaces out forever.Only disappointment was Gaz's monologue there. Err... felt like I watched the final episode on fast-forward or something. Was Chaika's "arigatou" the first time we've heard her use that word? My shoddy memory tells me she always used the word "kansha" before her, uh, event. Maybe I'm overthinking.
