Well that's my story.

So I was walking my dog along the CT river, and I noticed these bolt/screws/anchors(?) in a large rock.

This is what first which caught my eye:

It is on the top of the rock.

These are on the sides.

Here's the full rock:

The bolts are all to the left side. I couldn't find anything on the right, but the sun was going down.

The river has got to be pretty much at its zenith but while it would be rare it would not be impossible for this rock to be underwater. This is the view directly behind the rock.

There are a lot of rocks and rock outcroppings nearby that are identical, but I could not find anything else built into them. They were only in this one rock.
