TenaciousJ posted:I slept on it and I can't be too mad at the Giants at this point. What's the story people were talking about in the GDT of why Vogelsong is actually a cool dude? Ryan Vogelsong made the All-Star team at age 33 after being out of MLB for almost five years. The Giants drafted him and later traded him to Pittsburgh while he was still a young prospect. He was so loving horrible as a starting pitcher that the Pirates moved him to mopup duty, and he picked up the nickname "the White Flag," because when he came in it meant they were surrendering. He pitched in NPB from 2007 to 2009. He kind of sucked in Japan, too; in 2007, when the Hanshin Tigers made the playoffs, they left him off their postseason roster. The Giants signed him off the scrap heap and called him up when Zito got hurt, and he had one of the best ERAs in the NL in 2011. He should have been an All-Star again in 2012 but Tony La Russa is a shithead.

Giants should have Mike Morse back for the NLCS. He played in an Instructional League game today and said he feels 100%. Probably won't be in left field since he hasn't played in over a month, but at least he gives us a home run threat off the bench.
