I think he was an elite QB on pure ability, he just wasn't asked to play like one because they didn't need that with the running game being what it was. If you actually watch old games of his he would consistently make throws that only a small handful of QBs can make. He had elite arm strength and unbelievable accuracy for that era. His numbers don't stack up because passing took a huge leap forward after he was done as an elite QB and he was in an offense that suppressed his numbers. Dallas needed was a game manger type who could keep a defense honest by throwing deep a few times a game, and he was absolutely great at that. I genuinely think he had the talent to succeed anywhere though. There was a reason he was always the go-to example scouts used when they were talking about a prototypical pocket passer. I don't think he should be in the Hall of Fame based on what he actually produced (and when it comes to that he shouldn't get credit for what might have been), but I absolutely don't agree with the idea that he was just an okay quarterback who happened to be in the right place. He was an elite talent in an offense that didn't necessarily need that or feature it very well.

A lot of the criticisms of Aikman and Wilson are the same (anybody could succeed with that running game, he doesn't pass for a billion yards like he's "supposed" to etc) except Wilson has to run for his life constantly behind one of the shittiest pass blocking lines in the league.

I'm just saying MV's defense would be what I would say about Wilson except about the pocket passer stuff.

I'm still intrigued about how the AFC North is going to play out.

Being honest? I think the Browns are the third best team at the moment. I think the Ravens are the more experienced squad, and I think the Bengals are more talented.

I think the division will send 2 division winners, barring a collapse by the Chiefs, and the Browns continuing to nip at the heels really.

With the way things are unfolding in Cincinnati via injuries and the run defense falling off a cliff I would be very hopeful of Baltimore taking the division but for one thing, Andy Dalton turned into a grown up quarterback. I guess I always knew this could happen but I thought we had more time, or maybe he'd be mediocre forever. I'm really going to miss his 4 int games against Baltimore.

I'm really pulling for another year of 3 AFC North teams in the playoffs. Maybe Cleveland can be the team to bounce the Bengals in the Wildcard this year.

The current most hilarious final outcome to the season would be Manziel leading the Browns to victory against the Cowboys in the Super Bowl after Hoyer goes down in the AFC Championship. (In this situation, Romo plays lights out and still gets blamed.) Sadly we don't live in a world where such hilarious things happen.

Last year the most prolific offense in NFL history was held to a single score in the Superbowl and the year before Joe Flacco outplayed Peyton Manning and Tom Brady in back to back playoff games. Our world is plenty funny.

Easily the best game I've ever seen. I couldn't be more biased but I think it rivals the Dolphins/Chargers playoff game for best game in the league's history.
