Officiated by Kotomine, of course.

Hopefully we get sword rain in Gil v. Shirou.

Kohaku saves Akiha's life instead of letting her and SHIKI kill each other. Kohaku poisons herself, Shiki 'cuts' the poison out of her, the stress causes her amnesia. Hisui and Shiki rename her Nanaya and they all live together.

The poison cutting thing fits with Shiki's established powers, but A) I'm not sure how he managed to do it without cutting any of her body's lines, and B) I don't think amnesia works that way.

Also C) Even if she can't remember it, her living as a maid in the Tohno mansion after everything that happened is a little weird. Let her and Hisui move out and hire people who weren't ruthlessly abused for their whole childhoods.

Well C makes more sense when you realize that due to the horrific abuse the Tohnos are practically the only people they know. Probably easier to stay on at the mansion than move out to an unfamiliar place.

I made it through the 40AP exp quest today with a team mostly around level 15. I cut it a bit close, ended with only two servants left, one a single hit away from dying.

I went into the big boss dragon round with Sasaki Kojiro (16) at 1500 HP. All my other servants were down.

Motherfucker took down all 50k HP on his lonesome, in three rounds.

Tsubame Gaeshi is at level 3 and did about 19k of that damage.

Sasaki. Kojiro.

How did you charge back up his NP? While I found Kojiro really useful against dragons, this was mostly because of his resistance to Rider damage; it took forever to build up his NP.

I'm almost at the end of France now. I beat Fafnir (the giant dragon) with Kojiro dealing the final blows after he had killed my main 3 (Ruler, Spartacus, and level 35 support Attila), though he was almost dead by that point. After beating him I thought to myself "finally, must be done with the dragons now" but noooooope. A few levels later I have to fight 3 wyverns at once, one with 67k HP and the other two with ~25k. Fortunately I used the strategy of using Atilla's NP boosting skill + Heaven's Feel craft equip + a brave chain to do 55k damage at once with Spartacus's NP.

I also recently ascended Spartacus, which gave him a girdle of sorts and changed his weapon from a spiked club to a sword.

While my kanji knowledge is too bad to follow the plot much, I can read all the katakana/hiragana and figure out things from that. The kairosity guide posted earlier helped fill in all the blanks, though.

He'd already charged up to like 140% from the previous fights. Critting on an Arts attack gives you mad NP%.

You automatically start with Shielder, and you very quickly get another randomized 3-4 star(mostly 3) servant. You also get the 3 star Caster Cu at the end of the first world. Everything else is gained out of pulls, and is completely random. So we're really just running with whatever we happen to draw. Both EMIYA and Arturia are 4 star servants, so so the chances of drawing even one any time soon is low. If by Lancer you mean Cu, he's only 3, so you at least have some chance of drawing him. Kojiro is only one star, so you have a pretty decent chance of getting him after a little bit.

For illustration, I'm almost at the end of Rome, and this is my current roster.

Mostly 1-star servants I'm not currently using, with my party mostly consisting of 3 stars, with the exception of Kojiro. My only servant above 3 is the 5 star Waver/Zhuge Liang, who I'm also not currently using.

Yes, Gilles is currently in my party, but only to finish out his bond. If he actually comes out, things have gone horribly wrong.

Arturia is actually a 5-star.

I have her. She's pretty great. I need another copy to level up Excalibur so it can actually do good damage though.

By "roll" do you mean individual rolls or multi-rolls? If you've done 5-6 multi-rolls without any 4/5 star servants that really sucks. :smith:
edit: Oh, so not multi-rolls? Even though it can be tough to remain patient and save up the quartz, I think that it's still technically slightly better to use multirolls (and I think they guarantee a 3-star servant with the current event).

This is my current party now:

The idea is that I have Jeanne to fall back on as a tank if someone gets killed, but I'd rather have stronger damage dealers in my initial party.

I want to also use my Siegfried, but I don't have enough cost. This is more than good enough for now, though. I'm hoping that sticking Gil in my leader slot will somehow get me more friend points, even though he's not really any better than Vlad right now.

Want a Saber waifu to go with your Gil? I want some more swole friends on my list.

I'm just wondering if there's any point in feeding her exp cards. My three stars include Caster Cu, Lancer Cu, the aforementionned Boudica, Robin Hood, Mephistopheles and Kiyohime. Any of those worth leveling?

Kiyohime is a pretty decent berserker with a great all-enemies NP. The Cus are good at low levels with good NPs but their stat growths fall off at mid levels. Robin Hood has great HP and does huge NP damage but his normal attacks are lackluster. Boobica's NP is a party buff, which I don't really find useful, but I haven't leveled her to try her out.

Listening to the audio, there isn't a subject specified when Lancer speaks, it's just "did you say 'dog' (about someone)"

Going literally, Archer says to feed that pride to "the dog of that place"; そこいら versus simply その for "that".

I managed today's assassin boss with a friend Tamamo. Built up Arturia's NP on the flesh golem things, popped it first turn on the boss to clear the Chimeras, kept building NP while using skills to delay the enemy NP. On the turn Jack's NP was going to go off, I used the servant switch master skill to keep Arturia safe. Meanwhile Tamamo got some hits in. The NP hit one of my fodder servants instead, switching Arturia back in right away. From there it was easy to blow away the last 200k HP that was left.

A lot of it is surprisingly bad, too. There's some good ideas in there (the basic plot of Edmond getting revenge on the people who wrongly imprisoned him without using direct violence, Eugenie's subplot, Noirtier's subplot), but it's clogged with bad ideas:

  • The whole Valentine/Maximilien romance. I just don't care about them.
  • Fernand's character changes radically offscreen without any real explanation. He's always an rear end in a top hat, but he starts out as a hot-blooded rear end in a top hat who's proud of his Catalan heritage. At some point he becomes a calculating backstabber who pretends to be Parisian.
  • It feels like we're supposed to hate Danglars as much for his bad aesthetic taste as for his actions.
  • While I can certainly accept that Mercedes wouldn't stay loyal to Edmond's memory forever, it still seems weird that she marries Fernand specifically.
  • Dumas tries to have his cake and eat it too with the morality of revenge. Edmond showing "mercy" by letting Danglars live after bankrupting him and getting him kidnapped, for example. Worse, Dumas makes a point of Edmond being shocked by his actions unintentionally leading to Edouard's death after going out of his way to make Edouard as unlikable as possible, even though Edouard is a child.
  • I have trouble accepting that Edmond's Byronic edgelord schtick as the Count gets him admired rather than laughed at, even in 19th-century France. Though perhaps this is intentional social commentary (the poor are crazy, the rich merely eccentric).
  • It's also kind of funny how exotic Haydee is considered for being...a shut-in NEET. Her overcoming her shut-in-ness long enough to testify against Fernand is a good scene, though.

Wasn't The Count of Monte Cristo originally published as a serial? Some of the awkwardness might be chalked up to that.
