I like Minish Cap's combat a lot, but the longer the series goes on, the more of the game is taken up by unskippable cutscenes, tutorials, and fetch quests.

Link to the Past is really good - no long tutorial, few non-dungeon/combat quests, few unskippable cutscenes/dialogue, and when you pick up keys it doesn't tell you how keys work.
