I had been kicking around the idea of making SVGs with embedded JPGs for a while now, I'm glad to see someone finally give it a try

it really seems like the obvious way to do a better animated GIF: make it just a looping series of jpegs wrapped in an existing format

calling it "XNG" is dumb though, nice marketing effort

Yes, an animated image format with no interframe compression, what a great idea. Even GIF can do a form of interframe compression, depending on what program you use to construct it.
