Diversify later, and use what your character has loving skills in for now. To be fair, two-handed weapons kind of blow in Skyrim as well, but for entirely different reasons.

Dual-wield with the shout that increases your swing speed and the Orc's Berserk ability was insane, you basically became a high speed blender and shredded everything in seconds. Those and it fills your off hand that could be put to better use with spells, other weapons, or shields.
