Sonic Adventure 2: Battle Super Smash Bros. for 3DS Bayonetta i think it's probably cheating to pick games that haven't been released yet, but assume i changed my mind from smash 3ds to the wii u version and bayonetta to bayonetta 2 when those come out. honorary mention goes to saints row 2

I like list threads. I like reading threads full of carefully ordered utterly subjective lists replete with little to no explanation for the choices that have been made. I like how it promotes so much discussion, and has so much potential to become an interesting thread. Let's have more list threads, me heartys.

but for serious, heroes of might and magic III + expansions would be a good game to play for the rest of time. it's long, has lots of variety, is challenging, and has custom maps.

if you want explanations ill give em diablo 2 eastern sun is diablo 2 but with explosively more content. ive played it on and off since 2007 and everytime i install it my life is ruined for months until some other new game comes out that will distract me team fortress 2 is my favorite shooter ever and i like the hats and all the stupid bullshit they keep adding to the game. quake live recently took a poo poo and every other FPS is bad or purely singleplayer, which i cant see myself playing for eternity smash bros 4 because its loving smash bros i get to punch bros as a pink-fur DK and go WAA-ROO and shrug my shoulders best game forever gently caress

Donkey Kong Country 2 because it's my favorite game ever, but I'd probably spend most of my time playing Skate 3 or Super Smash Bros (any of them, really) because those are both games I can sink tons of hours into easily.

Quake Live, The Sims 4, and either World of Warcraft or EVE Online. I might go with EVE just because then I'd have less other games to worry about and could focus on it more probably.

ok poo poo, I wanna change my list: Minecraft - I will build entire continents of empty halls and abandoned miracles and then lay them to waste, only to start over again. or I'll kill myself if texture packs are not available. Morrowind (TES construction set included) - once I've completely played the vanilla game to absolute death I will start my infinitely complex and masterful ultimate mod. first I will build Tamriel in its entirety, then like elves of middle earth I will head for Lowtaxico, a mysterious, golden land to the west. Dwarf Fortress - I will start on year one and play until the save becomes corrupt for being too big. then I will create a new world, like the immortal apathetic god-prisoner I've become. then come the mods. but be careful. when you gaze long into a terrifying lavafilled bloodfortress the terrifying lavafilled bloodfortress also gazes into you.  still tempted to keep Animal Crossing to go absolutely insane and pretend I live a regular life. or Harvest Moon like was suggested here above. Starbound might also be a substitute for Minecraft, for being incredibly mod-friendly, but the game itself is kinda too meh.
