I wonder if this episode was written in case of the show getting canceled? I'm getting that kind of vibe from it.

I was expecting Devin would reveal she was actually a guy and that would scare Steve off. Roger vs the rats was great, and they even got the rink for a few hours.

I have to disagree with a lot of your points. Things did get pretty ridiculous at the end with a small audience army of crazy drunk women out to kill Steve for not cooking chicken. It didn't reach a fantasy point but it was still pretty nuts. Maybe it would have helped if we hadn't already seen the audience go loco at the beginning. I thought the Stan B plot was fine. It was short, although I think they put just enough in without it dragging out. I loved the little connection at the end with Greg and Terry. It was definitely more low key then usual but still very funny. I thought Toshi putting the phone down and walking away was hilarious! Exactly the kind of thing he would do. The Haley part was kind of annoying, especially when she had to do a baby voice. Francine breaking the syrup bottle open and dumping the whole thing on her pancakes was great though, and so was Haley's expression during that part.

Goddamn it, Roger is too freaking great. I should have seen that coming and yet I didn't. Claus had a great little story. That side of the Olympics never seems to get mentioned. Also, **** Andrew.

I don't know how much longer this show's going to be on, but I do hope they make some kind of reference to that ending.

I'm glad there's more episodes coming, but it does feel like there was a decline in the last season. I really hope this show doesn't hit rock bottom like The Simpsons and Family Guy did.

Are these backlog episodes finished as in already storyboarded? Because some of these newer episodes feel like they're scripts that were fished out of the garbage.

The funeral scene was great, especially Roger's single tear from the shadows. That would make a great gif.

Steve's song was epic! I was thinking it was going to end with everyone playing risk and Lewis shooting someone for invading him, but man I do love a good old "everyone laughs" ending

Aging the characters would be an interesting change of pace, but I bet the higher ups are worried it would "scare" the viewers or something.

Roger actually brought up some continuity, maybe that guy is going to play a role in a plot dealing with Jeff having an alien/robot body.

I still love this show to death, but man the writers just can't move away from Francine always being right and Stan always being wrong.

Space Cadet Omoly posted:Man, what are you talking about bro? Francine is constantly shown to be wrong and/or an idiot. Yeah there are some like that, but they sure like to put Stan in the wrong a good 90% of the time when he and Francine have a conflict. This new episode was a rather bizarre case. So Stan criticizes her for quitting things all the time, but he turns out to be wrong because...Francine quit being in a coma? Seems like it might have been better if instead she had not quit on life and worked to get out of the coma. Felt like they were resorting to strange logic just so they could put Stan in the wrong. I do like it more when those two are equally insane.

I don't feel like combing over every episode either, but they do like to crap on Stan a lot more. I'm thinking of episodes like the kidney one where Francine reveals that Stan might not be Haley's biological father because she slept with another guy before their wedding. The whole episode was focused on Stan being wrong for wanting to know if he is the biological father. Not once is Francine given any criticism for cheating on him and possibly getting knocked up by a stranger right before they got married. Those are the kinds of plots that really are not thought out well enough. This last episode wasn't anywhere near that bad, but it had similar vibes. You're right though, it is just a cartoon and shouldn't be taken too seriously. My problem is I really love this cartoon so it hurts when I see spotty writing like that.

Bust Rodd posted:Barry is the worst character because he is used exclusively to punch down. Every other character can occasionally bust someone else’s balls. Barry is exclusively used to be a fat moron that everyone teases, except the one episode where he goes crazy, and those jokes never land for me. Like, ha ha he got molested! Somebody needs some morphine. And you can have a little too
