SAC worked way better because it took the time to explain the world and everyone's history. How they will accomplish this in a live action film, I have no idea.

A straight adaptation would not work. But if adapted the concept, the themes, the important elements, and then molded the rest to fit a different audience, it could work really well. Lets hope whoever's adapting the screenplay knows what he/she is doing.
