My favourite bit is the recessed light that illuminates the top shelf and nothing else. The gunpla is blocking out the light.

Because I'm fairly new, I looked up the actual yen price for kits, to see how big the markup actually is, for being outside Japan.

It was a bad move because I just bummed myself out.

Anyway, rather than paying for expedited delivery, I'm now staggering purchases, so I get one a week, while the previous one is shipping.

This is how backlogs start, isn't it.

I'm so hype to see this finished. Rex is one of my favourite mech designs ever.

Bimmi posted:

This seems less true now than it used to. Things will go out of production for extremely long stretches, some to the point where you might as well call them discontinued. If someone's asking $40 for a 1986 Gundam ZZ kit, that tells me it's been a good long time since any have been seen at retail, and I believe we're now a couple years into the 00 series being basically unavailable anywhere.

So, my advice would be "buy what you want when you can and backlogs be damned" unless you're comfortable with the idea of possibly waiting several years for your next shot at it.

My current plan is, since I get paid weekly, to buy one a week, to compensate for the long deliveries. So it's offset when one arrives while the next is being delivered.

So I bought the 1/144 Grimoire earlier.

UK Gunpla Goons, it seems I may have found the answer to our struggle. A store with decent prices, and especially reasonable delivery costs.

I've bought a cheap kit with cheap delivery as a dry-run to see what their service is like.

Since I recently watched War in the Pocket, I bought the HGUC Z'gok-E :allears:

If awaiting delivery counts as backlog, mine is only:

HG Grimoire
HG Z'gok-E

The HG Build Burning Gundam is calling to me though. I also want to get the HG Hygogg too, and decide what my MG is gonna be (I only have one shelf for gunpla, so my centerpiece will be an MG).

Urgh, the Masurao is such a pain to pose, due to it's ITTY BITTY FEET AND MASSIVE ARMS AND TORSO.

I wish I could do the old 40k trick of sticking pennies under it's feet.

Think I've reconsidered actually. After the fairly stationary Z'gok-E, I want something more dynamic.

As well as waiting on the Grimoire I bought, I'm gonna buy the HGBF Build Burning :getin:

K9 has more (and better) accessories, but I prefer Sniper II's colour scheme.

How is the gm sniper k9 supposed to hold his rifle when firing it? The buttstock is way too big. Is this just another case of doing what looks cool, not looks right?

I think the intended way is "Give the giant rifle to dogbot, suit uses the normal sized one".

As far as I can remember, even in the show, the only time it used the giant rifle was laying prone, before giving it to dogbot.

Figures that the hardest weapons to put the Sniper K9 with is either of it's sniper rifles.

Still, giving it Naked Snake CQC poses with it's knife and pistol :allears:

There's a lot of parts still left on the sprue though...

Also, it does one of the things I always love: It can mount it's shield on either arm.
