Power Ambient posted:ASK: me about anything worth talking about in Chicago scum bag noise and I'll scream directly into your face "LAKE STREET...UNDER THE TRACKS!!!" I will be sorely disappointed with you. cyberia posted:I used to be heavily involved in the breakcore / noise scene in my city but the shark-jumping moment for me was going to a Realicide gig in 2010. Realicide Rocks, for those of you who don't know. The sets with Mavis and Swill rule so loving hard. Also Robert Inhuman just opened a new venue in Cincinnati called Cide Central. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=onwQcqsEBgc I live in Milwaukee - So I am super spoiled when it comes to noise. We also have the raddest DIY venue on the planet. FYI: That Youtube channel is run by a good friend of mine, and one of the 2 noise based gods of Milwaukee. Despite the fact that I could probably hit up a noise show weekly, I haven't been to one in like a year or so. Then again, I'm working on putting together an effects chain/building a circuit, so when I get back to it I'm going to be making it.

cyberia posted:Melbourne, Australia I forget how much Robert and the other Realicide dudes get around. Realicide as a project is on hiatus, but they've basically reformed under the name Decide Today. Also they opened up a venue in Cincinnati under the name Cide Central. It's pretty rad. I think they're about to do a European Tour in the next couple of months or so. I talk to Swill and Robert online occasionally, I'll warn you if I see anything about them hitting up your lonely continent. I honestly am spoiled noise wise here in Milwaukee. One of my best friends books most of the shows around here. There was a point a few summers ago that I got to see Boy Dirt Car, Bloodyminded, Consumer Electronics (Phillip Best of White-House), Crank Sturgeon, and Thrones within the span of a month. This is the venue and my buddy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNJFZ-PRYhM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XvKImRIEQo And here's basically every show he's played/been to since 2008. He documents every show that comes through while he's in town. It's loving mind blowing. I don't think there's a bigger collection of live-local performances aggregated anywhere on the internet. Honestly I don't think he knows how important what he's been doing is. He's got 515 videos of noise/experimental alone. SkaAndScreenplays fucked around with this message at 07:34 on Mar 1, 2015 |
