Ricochet was really really really really fun

I never got to play that :( I couldn't find any actually active server.

There was some mod that combined HLDM and the matrix slow-mo stuff and it was oddly entertaining but there was only 5 maps.

either The Opera or The Specialists, TS had a lot of maps so you're probably talking about The Opera

That was The Specialists and its spiritual sequel exists as Double Action: Boogaloo now and is pretty fun

in The Opera you would choose a character and then some associated perks like faster reloads, more stamina and such. There was also a PvE mode with AI called 'Mook Match'

in The Specialists you buy guns/items from a menu and just choose your character model

Double Action Boogaloo seems to mix both of those since you pick a player model and then a weapon loadout and then a perk class that determines what you get when you fill up your stunt-point meter and gives you some stuff like faster reloads, focused aiming with all weapons, longer dives, etc

I remember people being split when this came out between Action Half Life, The Specialists and The Opera. I was a The Opera player myself because it was during the period where Jet Li and poo poo was so popular.

I believe there were actually several dove points in The Opera, or at least some in the trailer (when making trailers for mods was epic poo poo)

Double Action Boogaloo has doves show up if you get enough style points or sometimes when you kill someone during a slo-mo dive
