How does the Sallie Mae mastercard work with Amazon, do you get 5% back on any Amazon purchase or just books?

I just made a mistake - I applied for the Sallie Mae Mastercard and got approved instantly. But...where it asks how long you've lived in your current apartment, it has months and years boxes. The first box is supposed to be years. But I thought that was where you were supposed to put months, because when you put a number in the years box, like 18, it says "18 months". I know, stupid. So I accidentally put 18 years. Do I need to call them? Edit: I just called them, and they didn't seem to care much. Doghouse fucked around with this message at 21:54 on Feb 1, 2015 |

I just started using my new Sallie Mae Mastercard, and am hoping to apply for the citi double cash card soon. My question is, is there a certain way I should stop using my current card, which is just what I had when i first opened our checking account, and is just 1% back? Can I just straight up stop using and cancel it, or do I need to do something else?

So what do I do with it, just keep it open and use it minimally?

Would it hurt my credit to totally ditch the new, crappy sallie mae mastercard? I think they are just going to send it to me
