How many games did Lions piss away because of there lovely FG team? The only one I can remember is Bills. Did there lovely kicking cost them the 1 seed?

lovely second half play and decision making by Atlanta and New Orleans are the only reasons Detroit is in a position to win the division rather than be fighting Philadelphia to sneak in as the 6th seed. I wouldn't be handwringing over a loss to the Schwartz.

Detroit will definitely miss a 43-yarder as time expires and lose by 2 at Lambeau though.

Instead we'll get to be drafting 20th. Aka the last spot for non-playoff teams.

The Lions should've beat Buffalo, lost badly to New England and Carolina, and got jobbed by the refs in Arizona.

Only the Bills game, as AsInHowe just pointed out. The Panthers game might have been slightly different if some field goals had been made earlier but you can't play that game.

Also we beat the Falcons because of our lovely kicking game

When did we get Prater though? I'm pretty sure he came between the Bills and Falcons games.

How is this possible? Some JJ Watt for MVP conspiracy theory.

TO BREAK A TIE FOR THE WILD-CARD TEAM

If it is necessary to break ties to determine the two Wild-Card clubs from each conference, the following steps will be taken.

If the tied clubs are from the same division, apply division tie breaker.
If the tied clubs are from different divisions, apply the following steps.

Two Clubs

1. Head-to-head, if applicable.
2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four.
4. Strength of victory.
...
Houston beat Baltimore head to head this last week.

Houston didn't play SD so you go to the next tiebreaker and Houston would have a better conference record (8-4) than San Diego (6-6)

This is wrong. You only apply the 2 team tiebreakers after you get it to 2 teams or are breaking ties within a division. You don't apply them when there are 3 teams left. You're also ignoring the fact that San Diego is eliminated from contention after a loss.

At the end of that scenario, there will be four 9-7 teams tied for the last playoff spot. (Houston, Baltimore, Kansas City, San Diego)

KC will sweep SD, eliminating the Chargers.

The next applicable tiebreaker will be conference games. Houston will be 8-4, KC will be 7-5, and Baltimore will be 5-7. KC and Baltimore are eliminated.

Houston advances to the wild card on conference games.

It's going to be Patriots vs Packers or Seahawks with Tom Brady getting a 4th ring behind a revamped defense. We all know it's going to happen. This is our punishment for the week of calling the Patriots bad after the Chiefs game. Last time anyone criticized Tom Brady that much was the Lawyer Malloy game against Buffalo in 2003, and then they went and tore up the league. This is our doing. We must suffer the consequences of our own hate.
