Why does most of this thread keep reading V. Illych L. as saying "your vote doesn't matter, so don't vote"? He's explicitly saying "your individual vote isn't likely to have much impact, so don't vote tactically, vote based on your actual political positions, even if that means voting for a third party". The latter is an entirely different argument from the former, but most people in this thread are arguing against the former.

because goons are stupid and love to misunderstand

And this is still a sign of any sort of hope for people living in the poorest corners of America that also have state governments that hate them...because? That's where the true screwjob is occurring.

I like how people act like a socialist city council member in Seattle signals some national sea change. Unions are dead and more than likely will be operating in what is functionally going to be a national RTW environment. I read this more as the final hurrah for labor in its last redoubts as it defends itself against its final picking apart. Labor cannot go on offense and protect the long-time unprotected at this point because it is lower in numbers, held down defending itself in northern cities, and run by people who think there's a way to just restore the way things were before 1979 through enough magic and stubbornness.

National RTW is coming, and no one has any clue what to do aside from feebly protesting against the inevitable and acting like you can just restore the New Deal in the face of a force dead set on exterminating it that also happens to run a large majority of states at every functional level as well as SCOTUS.

But hey, as long as cool white kids that fancy themselves revolutionaries (mostly online) in the worlds most affluent cities can brag about having socialists around.

You're dumb & gay as hell hahaha

Ugh, then there is nothing that would more make me wish there were actually a god than the thought of a Clinton candidacy. I guess I'm out of touch with "mainstream" America, but is there going to be actual enthusiasm for Clinton? There's a pretty strong folk-science belief in the evangelical community that says, "you can't be born gay, because that means it's genetic, which means it's inherited, gay people can't have children, and any inherited trait that stops people from having their own kids would die off in a single generation. Therefore, being gay must be a choice and anyone who says they were 'born this way' is lying."

Again, folks like you shift this country to the right because your innate naivete about the world causes you to detest America in areas where everywhere else in this world is even worse.

For instance, support for and subsidization of democratic ideals in the mideast. America is a global leader on this with our support of the mideast's only Democracy. And if you think it's totally cool for a sovereign state to pursue nuclear weapons while refusing to admit they've ever even heard of enriched plutonium and weaponized uranium, while simultaneously calling for the destruction of democracy and genocide of half the world's Jews, well, you might just be a communist.

I think all that stuff is good actually.

One interesting difference between Sanders and the other Democratic candidate: he's done at least two MSNBC spots every day since announcing and he wasn't at all shy of appearing on the network prior to the announcement.

Contrast that with Hillary who has yet to do any cable TV spots since announcing. Bernie's going to get a lot of airtime for his ideas because those networks have 24 hours to fill and no other candidates to fill it with.
