The 'nope nope nope nope' reaction to seeing the huge wall of tutorials is normal. They're not even exactly short tutorials, either. I kind of suspect what you're supposed to do is just try to play the game, fail, and then go back and look up the specific things you didn't understand. Then you play some more until some new mechanics foul you up, so you go and view the tutorials on those, and so on. I couldn't get too far in this game, just because my DS had reached the point in its lifespan where the touch screen simply wouldn't calibrate properly any more.
