Here's the facts on why I like the Pro Controller: the low-profile face button layout lets me simplify my input movements into single sweeping gestures, specifically sliding my thumb from jump to normals for shorthop aerials and jump to special for jump cancel QA out of shield or offstage Thunder, which is doable on the GCN controller but the chunkier buttons that aren't uniform size makes it a bit less smooth (additionally it feels more intuitive for me to move my thumb inward from B to A on a PC than to move it outward from X to A on a GCN). Smash 4 doesn't have a light shield input so the digital shoulder buttons feel much cleaner for shielding, and it took some getting used to but the c-stick being above the face buttons rather than below makes using it for dash cancel upsmash more intuitive, since I can just swipe my thumb up instead of down and then up from its resting position. I do a lot of training muscle memory on the 3DS version so everything I learn there is basically a 1:1 transition over to the Wii U, barring the circle pad to stick conversion. The one thing I miss is the octagonal gate, but once you adjust out of a decade of old habits its a very smooth and intuitive button layout that allows for minimal muscle movements. Anyways thanks for reading my paragraph.
