The Sontaran 2-parter suffers from Martha being jammed into the story for no reason (and doing nothing) - as an introduction it throws too much at the viewer

Also it's a bit rubbish

River's fine and always was, regardless of what the noise machine here has meme'd the character into over the last several years.

Yes, everyone who thinks she's terrible only does because everyone else does. Nailed it.

All the Christmas specials are just varying degrees of terrible.

That was the most enjoyable episode by Moffat in a good long while, but I do wish he'd stop digging into that same bag of tricks so frequently.

The "try to suppress an involuntary bodily function" bag of tricks?

It's only three seasons since Amy's Choice trod a lot of the same ground as this episode. Silence in the Library had the whole thing with people downloaded into the system in what was basically an artificial dream. Hell, the double episode that started last season had a scene at the begining where Clara is in a dream state with both her and the viewers unable to tell the difference until the reveal.

The whole thing of being unable to distinguish some artificially induced mental existance from reality is a well-worn sci-fi trope by this point but in fifty years the show had barely if ever touched it before but now it's rife, and its so predictable that anyone watching this eppisode must know that they're not out of the dream until the episode ends.

Since Clara had to wake up one more time after waking from the sled, does this go for the other three women as well? Did they stay in the dream thinking they'd woken up proper until their brains were liquid?

Yeah, same. It doesn't quite work.

It doesn't really make sense given that the Dalek exterior is basically a tank with the Dalek a little thing in the heart of it so why present the squishy eye right out in front?

Maybe he did, but at the apex of his flip the moon-dragon flew into him, thus explaining Clara's enormous sense of guilt!

This makes sounder logical sense than anything else involving the moon dragon.

Oh fo- you're not being clever, you're just calling attention to it and basically confirming it's significant.

Yeah that's a real stupid pair of posts that basically draw a giant neon arrow to it.
