In case you couldn't figure it out from the story, the person Shim was responding to wasn't the intel officer himself, it was his wife, who came here asking for something or other regarding PCS entitlements in the questions thread. As far as I know she hasn't been back (I wonder why) so no confirmation on how her/his lives are going...but given that the dude in question is a USAF intel officer, pretty safe bet it resembles something like that.
