I just have to say....DO NOT buy a Starion / Conquest. Sure, they look cool and tick all the right boxes, but just no. Don't. This is absolutely not a car for a Source: I owned a Conquest at one point a few years ago. That said - a Prelude is really not that bad of a suggestion, if you can get around the FWD and find a not rotten one. A 3rd gen (88-91) with (all mechanical) 4WS handles like it is on loving rails, and almost everything you will ever have to do to it is well documented online. 4th gen is kind of boring, 5th gen has a lot of electronic fuckery.

Okay, serious mode, there's a couple things in Portland I'd like to take a look at. http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/cto/4858838310.html This thing, if it is indeed fully loaded, should be 4WD, has the most awesome dash ever, and looks like a spaceship on the inside. http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/cto/4857147133.html Integra, which has been suggested before, and depending on how worn out things are, it may be very fixable and drivable on the spot. http://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/cto/4853456473.html Even if this might kill me, I still kinda want it, especially if it is in fact as good of shape as it seems. http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/cto/4851705933.html I heard Scirocco's are neat.

Ive had a Scirocco for 9 years and its been the most reliable car Ive ever had though its an 8V which is a little less finicky than the 16V. Its also insanely fun to drive even with only 90hp.

If the Scirocco and Integra look half as good in person, at those prices I would just buy them both tbh

Really, why doesn't Sperglord just get a 240sx? He could get one that's been SR20 swapped or he could do it himself after he learns about them. Pretty neat cars to work on and very straightforward. It'll be tough to find a good, unmolested one, but they're out there and his price range is on point for one. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/scz/cto/4853081610.html http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/4861329515.html http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/4855560309.html Adiabatic fucked around with this message at 17:42 on Jan 24, 2015 |

Buy a truck, like one mentioned earlier. Simple to work on, and hey if you feel like a project car later on, you can tow a car trailer or chuck engines in the back. If you have the room for more than one vehicle, it should always be truck/ute first, then project cars after.

Also: http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/4858076957.html Pretty much fits the bill, looks like. Unfuckered with, the mods that have been done to it are (according to him) easily removable, nothing's stupid and obnoxious on the outside of the car, and it looks like I've got room to fiddle with it if need be. fishception fucked around with this message at 19:59 on Jan 24, 2015 |

Sperglord Firecock posted:Also, that Stanza Wagon, what's up with it? Because it looks awful. You were supposed to read the ad in 24's voice. 240sx is a good on-paper suggestion I personally didn't bother making earlier because I didn't think he would find an unfucked one. With op's new take time and buy the right car approach, it's another good fit for op. He'd be hard pressed to find a suitable one though, because he needs to stay away from any PO fuckery that isn't dead simple to correct. Good ones are doriftu taxed about as hard as e30's too, but they're within his budget easily. HEY VAPER fucked around with this message at 21:18 on Jan 24, 2015 |

I already shot him an e-mail, just need to wait for a response. My plan for this is to head out there in early March to get car, so I have some time to save up for A: Sundry expenses, and B: the trip back. Edit: Not to mention going over the Rockies in a sleek light little RWD car in winter is a loving terrible idea and even I know that.
