Cats are generally cool with things that are quiet, slow-moving, and not overly grabby. I think that's why some like infants. Toddlers, not so much. Spotted hyenas may be bone-shattering, hormone-fueled apex predators, but they can have sweet moments too. Not much different than lions in that respect. Now, the spotted hyena's cousin, the aardwolf, is a very different animal... A ferocious predator of termites.  With a terrifying threat display.  Truly magnificent.
