My friend follows a "yardsale" type of page on Facebook where local people post things they want to sell or just get rid of. Someone made a post of a kitten their kid had found on the side of the road. They were giving it away for free and my friend said there were some very sketchy responses so she snatched her bag and drove out to save the poor thing. They took her to the vet and she checked out 100% healthy aside from being starved. She's somewhere between 6-8 weeks old and is as sweet as can be. Very little fear except for trying to run from loud sudden noises. Now she's nice and cozy at her new home, getting as much food as she wants, she's had a bath, is getting flea treatments, and has two doggie siblings (who are being kept away until she gets older and stronger) Her name is Marbles.

I know this isn't the type of thing people usually post here but sometimes when I'm feeling down, I go on youtube and watch people win huge amounts of money on gameshows. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GfDaplU9zuw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SU6IQWN3XjU The celebrations with the confetti and the crowd and just so much joy I get all giddy and teary when I watch them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfDBHuJaVn4 Look at this proud S.O.B callin' his parents.

I hope I'm not too late for the dance party! This is Bryan Gaynor in his first appearance on the show "So you Think you can Dance?" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vOjrChYDVE He didn't make it far in the competition, but he came back for another appearance in a later season. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGkLTi7pxPg The fans and judges loved him so much he actually became a guest talent a couple seasons later with his newly formed group called Remote Kontrol. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hD1gtFTE96U There's a guy who is good at what he does. And loves every second of it. After be gained popularity, he changed the name of the group to Dragon House as it gained more members. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9UIMemsKRMQ They are all as awesome as he is. I hope Thomas gets a great career that he loves. EDIT: I'm about to start a job at a distribution center's bakery and I'm a little nervous since I've never done anything remotely like it before. It reminded me of this video. I hope I can one day get as good as this guy. HopperUK posted:Good luck! You can do anything! Alteisen posted:Well if its a distribution center you probably just pack stuff. Ozz81 posted:You can do anything you want as well as you want to - and if you love it, you'll never work a day in your life Thanks for all this guys! I had my first day of orientation and it seems awesome. I applied for the job knowing that LITERALLY over 5,000 people applied for 200 jobs. I'm still surprised and a little baffled I got a job. I will be doing some mixing, feeding dough into a machine that stamps out doughnuts and then they'll be glazed and I'll be icing them as well. (not all at once of course.) and then boxing them and possibly helping to load them on pallets. It's more than twice what I was making stocking shelves at 5AM in a retail store, the hours are better, the benefits are better and we get quarterly bonuses. It's supposed to be one of the top 100 companies in the US to work for. I'm really excited about this opportunity and I'm relieved to get out of the quicksand pit that is retail. I feel like I'm finally going places. It may not have been my childhood dream to work in a distribution center bakery, but I won't have to scratch by paycheck-to-paycheck and that's amazing. I want to say to anyone else in a sub-par job, Go for what you really want even if it's a long-shot. You just may get it!

I hope all you goons are having a great day! I just wanted to say everyone in this thread is awesome and I love visiting this thread every day to make me smile. For content, a few months back an itty bitty kitten too young to be away from it's mother appeared outside of my grandma's house. She already has several (adult) strays but this was the only kitten we found. My brother-in-law named him Bashful because the kitten was super skittish and wouldn't come to anyone but him. He's still wary of people but not to the degree he was when he was tiny. My brother-in-law goes over there all the time to make sure the kitten is fed and takes him regularly to the vet. Here is a picture I took of him today. He is so happy and healthy and has the most amazing eyes.

I've had a pretty terrible week. Got sick, cracked my phone screen, and got some really bad news about my dad's new job. He moved to another state for a new job and he's not going to be able to come home and visit as much as we thought. Requesting cute critters, animals loving people, or people loving people. Or any combination thereof. Thanks guys. This thread is my favorite. EDIT: Or really cool science stuff. Not the usual type of content for the thread but if anybody here hasn't heard of "The Button" On reddit it's a really interesting thing going on. People are calling it a social experiment even though nobody is really sure what it is. It is a timer counting down from 60 seconds. Every time someone pushes The Button the timer resets to 60. It has been going on since April 1st and has never reached zero. Only Reddit accounts made before the button was created can push the button. Which means there's a limited number or people who can push it and the timer WILL run out eventually. But how long will it take? How many Pushers are there? Some people are abstaining from pushing altogether because they want to see what happens when the timer runs out. There are little colored flair on reddit to signify at what time was left on the timer when you pushed the button. So for some it has become a game. Who can get the lowest number? Who can let the clock drop tantalizingly low before they click? But with hundreds clicking, it is not an easy task. There are sites to monitor The Button. People have made videos talking about the psychology behind it, written songs, and stories, and made art. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KORDUhA50M I find it all so interesting. I have not pushed The Button yet. I am waiting for when pushers are sparse. Maybe I can keep it going just one minute more. The question is: Will you be a pusher? https://www.reddit.com/r/thebutton/ http://jamesrom.github.io/
