I came in to work yesterday and a box and a pouch had arrived!

Opening the pouch first, I discovered a t-shirt!

I will forever remember the Aztex as the team that gave us the good (Scottish) Eddie Johnson, and it looks like they beat the Thunder Bay Chill 3-1 to secure the 2013 PDL Championship, so an excellent shirt!

The reverse so you can see the amazing names of the semifinalists:

On to the box, filled with high-quality medical insulation!

A very good haul of Austin, TX swag!

The beer is a Turkish Coffee stout, which sounds incredible and I can't wait to drink some! Unfortunately, the glass at the back broke in transit, but it looks like it would have been pretty nice.

Thanks Bovril Delight and Merry Christmas to you too!

You bastard! :argh:

gently caress! Sorry about the glass, I thought I wrapped it well but that box took a pounding (like flaps mam). I'll get another one out.

Glad you like it, sadly all the Aztex gear is sold out since they are changing over for the new season.

It was on this day that his greatest enemy defeated, the true lord of darkness arose. His name? MARIO.
Alright people prepare to be amazing and be jealous on my Secret Santa gift this year. Now if you been following the thread you might know am a fan of different team in different places. So to know where each team is where my first gift was a world map.

Next since I like Roma the only gift that would scream Roma is a school girls/maid like socking

In addition to Roma the other Italian team I support because I have a actual connection because my Dad was station there is Vicenza Calcio

Going outside of Italy we go west to Spain where we find a sticker of Atlético Madrid because why not?

Then in the north we arrives in France where a team that shares a name with a suburb of Chicago, Lyon , and gives us a Ribbon so I can wrap gifts for next edition of the Secret Santa.

As shown on the ribbon the ribbon was made in german, now I don't really have a german team but I did a german translation of a porn novel. Don't know german but I think I can understand a few words since english and german are related.

As for a more tamer book I got this for being a Arsenal supporter despite it being about eastern London teams (though Arsenal have their roots in eastern London), it's a short book but I love history so learning about the history of east London teams will be great.

Going across the atlantic we stop by the country of my Mom birth of Mexico and the closest biggest team near my Mom's hometown of Nuevo Laredo Is Monterrey and for that I got a cd of music from Monterrey. (On a side note my Mom loves this so this might be the best one out of the bunch)

And to finish up this Pan European North American gift trip we come home to good ol Chicago (technically Bridgeview but it's like across the street from the city so it still counts as Chicago for the most part) we get a mini soccer ball for the keychain.

Overall I have to say this have been a very memorable Secret Santa, at the begining I was sotra bum out but as I keep on getting a new gift each day I started to like it and finally loved it at the end. So thanks to whoever gave me it and hope you got some nice stuff.

Hey, glad you liked the stuff and it all came (eventually)!

I'd actually sent a nerdily anxious email to irlZaphod that everything was coming in a million boxes to let you know to wait for it - it was all supposed to come together or ship the map last but obviously that didn't happen. The reason the world map was to be last was because I'd included a gift message that read "I think this should now about cover all the loving teams you support, plus a world map to find other random locations for any you maybe omitted.". :smuggo:

quote:

Yeah, of all the countries/teams you named, you didn't have a German one - so when I did a search in Amazon for the German men's national team, aka die Manschaftt, that was the funniest thing that came up. I'd just figured that ephex or someone could do a funny translation, I hadn't realized at the time it was adapted from English already. Just found the original "Taken By The Team" and at least based upon the Kindle sample text, there does seem to be a lot of rapid, aggressive yet technical touches around the box by multiple men. The reviews of it are pretty  as well; apparently snooty literary critic Delta found "the ending highly predictable and a little clichéd" in a 40-page gang-bang e-book.

Thanks for being patient and a good sport about it all, merry Christmas.

Thank you for the gift but a funny thing about the world map is that it was the first thing I got along with the socks. So I was kinda confused when I got the note with just the map and the socks.

Chiunque può essere Luther Blissett, semplicemente adottando il nome Luther Blissett

So I finally got round to having the postman deliver my gift, which I accepted, as is traditional, in a dressing gown while reeking of weed and farts

if this was full of bees they're probably dead now, let's open it up

oh

tbh my list wasn't me doing sarcasm, that list is now the few things left that I actually like and as such I'm terrible to buy for, to the extent that my irl friends (both of them) bought me Bukowski novels and a Teddy Roosevelt biography and Remember Julian bought me a copy of How To Lose Friends & Alienate People because "I saw this and I thought of you"

this is literally ideal

this is the version of the book without the obvious factual errors, which is in many ways the best one

i don't really know what this is but it'd probably get me a four-game ban

terrible dad socks for people who actually enjoy fun

a shirt I can never wear in public

close-up on the obscure cult badges

even more stuff; will use the hobo gloves when I go to Rome and punch Albanians on the Spanish Steps; have already eaten the Toblerone and now feel a bit sick

puns where you have to know dutch pronounciation (to keep the riff-raff out)

this is both sides of a custom-made keyring which literally has my name on a picture of that pitch in the Faroe Islands by the sea and is inherently far cooler than my gift which was some racism and a bauble I stole from the office xmas party in some kind of fugue state (we had to have a meeting the next day because some people had stolen vases and actual furniture from the venue, it was cool as heck)

legit, this is a frankly ridiculous hoard of stuff and is cool and good as heck, big props to Thirteenth Step for making an effort and not just giving me obsolete electronic equipment that no longer gets used, like my gay republican dad

Nice. I posted this from the post office in New Street Birmingham which isn't a real post office it's basically a room full of Self service machines like you get at ASDA so I had my doubts it's actually arrive.

I could have done better but my life spiralled into poo poo and fail towards Christmas so that killed any enthusiasm I had for buying things, so apologies for that.

I made the wife try it first. It tastes like white chocolate, parmesan & meat. Pretty terrible stuff. I had to spit mine out.

The green tea kit kat was great. Haven't tried the black thunder. Baskin Robbins ones are interesting. They taste like chocolate when you leave it with other candy in a bag, mixed with pop rocks.
