I think I'm a doctor, but that doesn't make me a doctor. This fancy avatar does.

You Are A Elf posted:

That book was called Mysteries of the Unexplained, and it was indeed a cool, yet unnerving book to read as a kid (those faces would creep me out, too :ohdear:).

I wish I could find pictures from Time-Life's similar book series Mysteries of the Unknown because there were some more pics like the The Faces of Belmez that were pretty freaky, but all I can find are pics of the covers :(

But have the commercial that would come on randomly during after school cartoons when I was a kid, making me feel dread and uncertainty as a nine year old:

That reminds me of another commercial for a book or video series I saw a lot in the 90's. I can't remember the name of it, but it was a similar theme.

The only thing I remember is that at one point it describes the "Face of Mars."

With only that but of detail to go on, I haven't been able to re-find that commercial.

So MyHeritage.com has a new feature where they can "animate" your old family photos, so that they literally turn into the pictures from harry Potter where people are moving and smiling.

The main page has several examples in the gallery below:

I'd try to just link the photos/videos, but it's not a simple video/image I can right click and copy/save. I could get some screen recording software but... :effort:

Bumping this thread for this picture I saw at dinner over the weekend...give me big Stephen Gammell (Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark) vibes:
