While in-game, press on your menu button on the gamepad and go into your friends list. It should be written at the very top of the list

I would like to play in this tournament, my NNID is AJRamz but due to racism I won't get the game until Friday.

My characters will be ROB, Ness and a third to be determined although I don't think being limited to three is all that helpful.
