The Frank Sinatra in Austrailia episode is pretty loving amazing.

Seconded! It's the first episode in over a year (i think) that I immediately had to relisten to. I think I listened to it three times in about a week, something I haven't done in a long time. Garreth's Sinatra voice never gets old "BAY-BEE!"

One of my favorite live episode moments are in the Real Crocodile Dundee episode, when Dave and Garreth learn that the kids game "telephone" is not called that in Australia. Dave even guesses that the aussie name is something racist before the entire crowd shouts the name "Chinese Whispers" and both of the American hosts lose their poo poo.

The entire episode is hillarious as well, definitely one of my favorites.

There's a really good documentary about Linda Hazzard on Youtube by Ask A Mortician btw. If you haven't watched any of her stuff before, don't be put off by the thumbnail face she's doing, she knows it's looks stupid and off putting but she's also been on the platform long enough to know that these kinds of sacrifices of one's dignity have to be made to please the almighty algorithm. She produces very high quality, well researched videos.

It looks fine compared to things like the thumbnails of reaction channels and the like, but IIRC she has said that it feels very tacky to plaster her face with a "ooh spooky" expression on half the thumbnail of her somber, serious videos.

I don't mind Weird YouTuber Face being done to appease the algorithm, especially if the alternative is stock SEO clickbait titles that hardly describe what the video is about like "YOU WILL LOSE IT at this mystery!"

God I hate the Internet sometimes.

Unfun fact: Search engine optimization is the reason that porn parody titles are basically a lost art these days. Gone are the days of "Ferris Bueller Gets Off" and "Star Whores", these days it's all "Not The Office - an XXX Parody" and such. Another sacrifice to our algorithmic overlords.

The latest Past Times is absolutely buck wild! It's from Minneapolis in 1970 and so far they have reported on a (possibly Italian) study where they gave 40 male rats a new drug that made them super horny, someone then - for reasons that remain unexplained in the article - gave a woman that was treated for intestinal cancer the same drug and she reportedly became so horny that "she started chasing everybody" until they let her husband sleep over at the hospital.

The latest Past Times, the one with Marc Maron, was really good. Maron was surprisingly funny as well. I looked like a crazy person on the bus as I was choking back laughter at the not-insane Sacramento man who commited suicide by steak.

You don't want to live in tube land. Or maybe it was tube world? Either way, insightful stuff from one of the great minds of our time.

I would like to submit to the official canon of great dollops the one where prince Alfred visits Australia.

Highlights include the prince's ship sailing right past Perth even though its citizens are gathered in the harbor with a band and everything, religious riots in Adelaide, the citizens of Melbourne lining the harbor and shouting "don't be afraid of us" as the ship docks, prince Alfred acting like a prick and stiffing everyone including the ladies at the classiest brothel in Melbourne. There's even a perfect third act twist as the recurring comic relief gang The Fenians shows up and attempt to assassinate the prince in Sydney, something the Sydney Morning Herald reassured us the next day "had no connection in any way whatsoever, however remote, to anything Australian."
