 If we're talking 18th century: the Jesuits were pulled out of Latin America because they pushed back against colonial abuses. In the 20th century they were pushing for the adoption of liberation theology. As far as Christian organizations go they're on the left end of the spectrum and aren't really contributors to reactionary sentiment.
