Chile really needs to open up immigration. There are plenty of Chinese willing to come over and build extended family-run businesses that neatly sidestep labor laws that choke the economy. Last time I checked, immigration to Chile is essentially impossible, either due to rule of law or bureaucratic hijinks.

England Sucks posted:Chile has plenty of immigrants. They are mostly Colombians of African descent. It's caused quite a bit of racial strife in the cities where mining is common. I'm not talking about uneducated immigration, i'm talking about skilled immigration from countries that have a surplus of college graduates, but low salaries.
