Yahoo bought flickr with the express purpose of turning it into an image-based social network site, despite the fact that Facebook 1) exists and 2) hosts more photos than all other image-hosting sites on the internet combined. There are lots of ways to use flickr, but they all boil down to two key features, which any half-decent image hosting site should have by default: you can put up a picture in a place you can find it again, and you can write stuff underneath your picture, including links and other basic features of internet-ness. Some people toss a few thousand photos up and then paste links into other places (like me, posting my stuff in the Dorkroom and to my blog or facebook). Some people put up a small number of photos and write essays to go with them. And some people try to turn the weak community on flickr into their own little fetish-dungeon, and endlessly browse for pictures of animal anuses.

The flickr community is mostly garbage but the site works really well though. I think maybe tumblr has some quality content but lol tumblr. Also the flickr app is pretty nice.

I found that throttle fetish thing to by accident on youtube also looking up car problems. We looked at it for a while and it gets really specific, like blonde short russian women in heels and sexy military uniforms. The internet is my favourite thing.
