didn't vista have more aggressive power management and it would kill applications that prevented the computer from sleeping? then microsoft wimped out in 7 and let application developers hang the system indefinitely?

any time ms has a good idea these days they always roll it back after one version because bad devs complain about not being able to do whatever the gently caress they want

the way they locked down mobile broadband in windows 8 so that the OS handled everything was a good idea. at the time i worked for a company that made connection managers and they were so mad and confused that microsoft wouldn't give them access to the hardware. i wouldn't be surprised if ms backed off of that for windows
