Arson Daily posted:I think it’s that we (SA posters, who are by and large in our mid 30s or older by now) remember these movies more clearly than some 20-25 year old would. If the boys do a movie from 2004 I’m like “that movie isn’t that old!” Because I was in my early 20s then. Some millennial listener isn’t going to have the same experience because they were 5 or 10 or some poo poo. mid 30's is a millenial. I think the cut off is 35/36 or something like that. as a 32 year old I know my place.

It's not as bad as BvS, but it's just not good. I need to go stock up on edibles and maybe with all this corona business going on I'll be able to WFH and kill some time with this.

They need to do an episode or two of Married With Children, but the ones when they shoe horned in Seven for like 10 episodes and then killed him off and stuck him on the side of a milk carton.

GrandpaPants posted:They should have done The Thing (1982) for WLM and The Thing (2011) for WHM*. I was disappointed when I saw it in theaters, but watching it a couple years ago I don't think it was that awful. It's a shame the practical work got replaced with CG tho. That's a drat shame especially with the practical demo behind the scenes vids that came out awhile ago. that would've at least bumped it up to a unnecessary, but at least cool prequel.

It’s a completely serviceable popcorn movie. It’s not the scariest thing ever but it’s also a good remake done well. It just isn’t special or something totally fresh. It just is.

It’s aggressive in how boring it is. It gets to these crescendos and big moments of emotion, but it’s so aggressively flat and boring, it would be impressive if it weren’t a multi million dollar production. Idris Elba going to jail for assaulting his agent would be a better career move than this was for him.

It just disappeared like it never existed. it's not exactly a property americans were clamoring for I dont think and that's where Spielbergs primary audience lies. Also the animation freaked people out for whatever reason. It hit that weird divide of too realistic, but too cartoony looking. It was a fine movie, I think i own it in my giant pile of media, but also its not a movie I really think about too often besides it being a technical spectacle that looks great.

The only thing I remember about that movie is Henry Cavill looking so much like a live action version of Sterling Archer that it was almost creepy. If the end of archer could just be a live action movie... that would be stupendous. H John Benjamin would still voice Archer, Henry Cavill would play him.
