Why even make a movie set in or around Egypt if you're just going to cast the whitest people possible? Just because the film is made up garbage that no one saw doesn't magically excuse a lovely practice that has been going on in Hollywood since its inception.

That's why it was "Book One: Water"; that's the name of the first season. Not only that, he somehow managed to make it worse in every conceivable way. He even went as far as changing the pronunciation of a bunch of characters names. I came out of that movie assuming the man had never seen an episode in his life.

A week ago I would have been head of heels for them to cover this movie, but after seeing it I'm surprised they're even covering it. While not great it's certainly not Grown ups 2 or BVS levels of bad and it's probably the best of these modern reboots of kids toy commercials.

Gyges posted:But isn't stretching out a 20 minute episode to feature film length the very essence of the Power Ranger way? That has to be what they did in the other movies. There was more than 1 other Power Rangers movie, right? The second movie is unwatchable, but it's biggest crime is they don't even morph until the last 20 minutes. And everything before that is dull as can be.

Pacific Rim isn't great but doesn't have anything nearly as bad as the twins, or tape Guy, or Shia and his parents, or robot testicles or robots pissing and humping things, or Romeo and Juliet laws.
