Very interesting. I've got the idea in my head to spend a month or so in Spain this year, so I'll definitely be following this thread just to learn more about what's going on. I've also got a slight bone to pick with the OP: a ham in every household is everyone's dream, not just Spanish people.

It doesn't stop every restaurant in the city from loving up every other aspect of Spanish food, mind you.
