every single woman i know has a story about a taxi driver loving them over on the fare in some way or another because they were drunk coming home from the bar. like resetting the meter after a split fare and the driver dumping them out in a lovely neighborhood when they called the driver out on it. and reporting them didn't do jack poo poo. taking the payment aspect out of the hands of the driver is one of the major things uber has going for it from a "feeling safe" perspective. it's not just a physical safety issue all the time.
