My first car: 1989 Ford Escort. Bought it for 500 bucks and had a backyard mechanic rebuild the head. 4 spd manual and a busted e-brake. Drove this thing for almost 2 years before it got passed on to my younger siblings, who eventually passed it on to a friend. It was still running 6 or 7 years ago believe it or not. Looked just like this except for it was very tan My current car: 2013 Taurus SHO, picked it up in Feb with 18000 miles on it for 28.5K. Great value in my book, it's fully loaded with everything but a sunroof. Looks just like this picture (same color and rims) Dream car: I don't really have a single dream car, I have a dream stable of cars for different occasions. If I had to pick a single car though for all occasions, it would probably be a super high performance midsized sedan. RS6, CTS-V, M5, whichever one of those I like the best.

First car: 1979 280ZX Photo isn't my car, but same color and everything except this one doesn't have as much rust Current 2011 Toyota Tacoma. Technically, a company truck. Have a brand new 2015 on order and should have it shortly due to this getting miled out. Current car we actually own: 2011 Legacy. Generic appliance car with a 2.5 CVT. Dream car? So many but if I really had to pick: Pantera, preferably in GTS flavor. slidebite fucked around with this message at 20:41 on Dec 11, 2014 |

First: 1984 Plymouth Voyager It had a 5 speed that 5th gear was worthless in because the engine was too gutless to drive it. Covered in punk rock stickers and spraypaintings, it was a useful mobile drunktank/love wagon during highschool/just after highschool. After it caught on fire the 3rd time I finally got rid of it. Most recent: 1989 Mercedes 300TE I can't find a photo of mine at the moment, but this one is exactly like mine. It was a car I had always wanted, so it was a nice bit of fulfillment. Dream car: 1988 Lancia Delta Integrale. It checks all of my boxes of boxy, hatchy, black plastic 80s Euro interior, weird character, and I would say reasonably fast.

First car: 1975 Toyota Corolla KE30 (pic not mine): It was a heavy, rust ridden gutless car, but had a great heater. Current car: 2001 Ford Laser SR2: The opposite of the Corolla Dream car: 1972 Chrysler Charger R/T E49 Six Pack: The early 70s six cylinder coupe that ate V8s for breakfast. Sadly Chrysler dropped the ball and didn't develop the car beyond 1972.

first car -- 1993 Ford Tempo looked much like this ... except only some of the body panels weren't oxidized, there were smears of primer and/or bondo in front of the wheelwells, and the front bumper became silver after I peeled off part of the original one in a parking garage. Hilariously reliable, and I'd probably still be driving it if it wasn't a car that spent its entire life in the Rust Belt. Ended up selling it to a guy who worked at the local newspaper because he called me a couple hours after I got back from placing the ad. current car -- my car prior to this had developed a habit of breaking down catastrophically, and about a week after spending $500 I didn't have to get it to pass inspection I got rear-ended by a nun and it was totaled out. So I bought this new a few months later because I was pretty soured on used vehicles at the time. Also, good luck finding cheap small used cars in mid-2009. Not my smartest financial decision but it's earned its car payments. Probably should've held out for something with four doors, or at least not in black ... oh well. dream car -- too many to choose from, so I'll keep the Ford theme going and say a US-spec Mk I Cortina with an Ecoboost 1.6, comfy seats, and some slot mags or Minilites.

First car: '83 VW Rabbit (Golf to the rest of the world) Most recent: [REDACTED] project car. It's a BMW (surprise) and I've done so little on it that it isn't worthy of a project car thread...yet. Dream car: Hard to say...either a 911 GT3 or an E63 M6.

First: '85 Lesabre, Olds 307, and honestly it was objectively the best car I owned up until the Vibe came around. I made some very, very poor automotive decisions after I retired that thing. Had some crackhead not done so much collateral damage to get my stereo I might still have it. I have pictures but they're buried Last: 01 Sportage. I really should get around to getting it driveable. Dream: 75-77 Celica.

Current: 2015 STi Pic while driving in LA: Dream: Ferrari 348 coupe modified to be what I want. Also an NSX with a manual, 3.2L and pop up headlights. The performance of the 348 was underwhelming but something about it I just love.

First car was a 1966 Ford Galaxie. It was such a great car and was pretty reliable for being 30 years old when I got it. 289/cruiseomatic so lucky for me it was slow as balls but it sounded cool. Learned a ton about how to fix cars on it. Somehow I never crashed it as a teenager. I had it for about 3 years and sold it to a friend. Current daily beater, 99 Forester that Ive had a ton of fun with. My dream car will be my Scirocco when Im done putting the TDI in it and restoring it Other than that Id really like an old air cooled 911 someday.

First car: 1990 Gmc S15. I had so much fun in that truck. I will always remember it fondly. Most recent: 2005 Subaru Forester XS. Awesome wagon and I think they're handsome as hell. Dream car: either an 80's 911 with an LS swap or a 73-80 C10 Silverado short box with plaid interior and two-tone blue paint with a HT383 in it because I vacillate between being suicidally dumb and being a dumb hick

My first car was a 1990 (I think) Ford Laser: She actually lasted quite a while, always started and I didn't treat it very well. I got it straight after high school and didn't really care to maintain my car... Rarely checked the oil, tyre pressure, coolant etc... I should have treated it better but alas. I'm now getting into the inner working of cars and am going to properly maintain my current car. (Not my actual car but an example) My current car is a 2000 Toyota Celica ZR (Pretty sure it's the equivalent of the GT-S in the US) 2ZZ-GE engine w/ VVTLi. Here she is: There's only 58,000 kilometers on the clock, so about 36,000 miles? She runs really well and I plan on taking good care of her. There's some minor cosmetic issues with the body, such as a few paint chips on the hood and front bumper, and the previous owner must have scraped the passenger side against something as there is a slight dent there - kind of annoying but I can live with it. She's my first manual transmission so it's been a bit of a learning experience. Still don't feel 100% with it, mainly hill starts. Thank god for the handbrake. My dream car would probably be a Mk3 Supra.

First: 1973 Super Beetle. Taught me how to work on cars which was great. Started me down a path that ended after owning four mid-80's watercooled VW's which was probably a bad idea in hindsight. Current: 2004 RAV4 A totally bland vehicle-like substance, one of only a handful of vehicles ever made that have both the high ground clearance and tiny size to fit into my weird garage, suitable only for bashing into other vehicles, parking meters and the sides of my garage. It has 150k miles, 4WD, leather, an okay stereo I transplanted from a new Scion, sunroof, and barely enough power to get out of its own way. I'm stuck with it or something very similar to it as nothing fun fits down my driveway without a lot of boards and ramps involved. Dream: A house with a two-car garage, a reasonable driveway, and a 50th Anniversary 911.
