Maxed to the federal limit See the very last point point - $20k into eventual house down payment fund Boom - $25 k Contributed the max through payroll to reduce tax burden Well somehow we blew this away and ended at $701k. The market was slightly negative so it was almost all pure savings. Technology (software engineering). I should also say I live in NYC so the numbers aren't as crazy when adjusted for cost of living.
