So what is the best tethering app on the play store for letting my droid phone act as a mobile hotspot without paying verizon a bajillion dollars to let me use my data?

I don't have an unlimited plan, I have a single line plan with 2 Gb of data usage.

I have a Droid Maxx, and all I want to do is get root access using my file explorer app, but I can only access my sd card. My understanding is I need to root my phone to do this but rooting scares and frightens me. What is involved? I literally only want to be able to browse my files on my root device so I can do things like set my ringtone to my alarm (both android defaults).

So I'm thinking about rooting my nexus 6p. I haven't really rooted anything in about 10 years. What are the big downsides to rooting an android phone these days?

Mostly just so my luminous app could be more like flux and actually gently caress with my screen's color temperature and not just by throwing a lovely overlay over everything.

I'm kind of in a bind. I need a good type c charger for my nexus 6p (mine broke) but I know that there have been issues with type-c cables not being standard. So thus far I have only trusted the chargers on the google store but I need a charger now, looking locally I seem to be unable to find any type c chargers at the moment.

Does anyone know where I can pick up a type c charger for my nexus 6p at a brick and mortar?

Does anyone know how to prevent certain apps from appearing in my "share" menu. I enjoy a lot of my messaging apps and what not, but I never ever am going to share things to them, so I don't want them appearing in the list when I tap "share". I'd rather not uninstall them, but I do want a cleaner simpler share menu.

So my nexus 6p is getting awfully slow and low on space. I wanted to see if there was a way I could basically wipe it to factory. I guess what I want to know is:

-Is there any easy way to make a backup of my entire phones memory card/internal storage to my computer?
-If I factory reset, will I get all of my messages back (text messages for example)?
-Is this even possible to do, is there built in functionality for a factory reset?
