One of my favorite moments from last year's AGDQ was the Starcraft 2 run. It happened during "prime time" 7-11pm and the room was full for whatever has on before, empty during the run and then for the late night Half-Life runs that followed it, completely packed.

Supposedly that's just in because of Team Liquid bux getting drawn in during that time.

The best moment of last year was the TAS stuff though.

Bad games usually have better runs than good games, because imo at least watching someone play a game pretty well isn't nearly as interesting as watching someone break the heck out of a game.

i don't think 'bad' is necessarily right so much as 'glitchy'

ocarina of time is a good game but it's also glitchy as gently caress and the runs exploit that

I was thinking of clarifying that but I feel it's mostly accurate. Bad games are usually glitchy in ways good games aren't, plus they can be funny to watch in their own right.

For example Bad Street Brawler or whatever it was, that Funkdoc played a few years back during the Awful Games Done Quick section was pretty amusing.

SM57/58s are pretty similar to that MD46, being cardioid dynamics and all. They're also fuckin' unbreakable, as already stated. The 58 has a "closer" pickup range and it handles wind pretty bad, so I'm not sure if it's that well-suited for your purposes - the MD46 is better, I'd think. That or an omni handheld if you wanna get a new one.

Now I'll shut up about mics.

Nono I'm curious now, where'd you pick up all the information on microphones? :v:

I feel like near the start of yesterday's runs someone mentioned DarkSpineSonic discovering some new trick, if so what was it? It was during the DKCR Tropical Freeze Run.

Well, lower zoom adds a significant amount of time. Like 5-10 minutes of wandering around. Unfortunate, but not every game is for a GDQ, and this is probably one of them now :v:. The patch that added this was in October.
