is this book any good?

My favorite of last year's new bat books.
A good mix of ridiculous spy fiction stuff and pathos, one and done missions and really varied story construction (ie: one issue meant to be read forwards and backwards) which gets me interested in seeing where it'll go month to month.

He can fly and is invulnerable, so far.

It's a byproduct of his resurrection through a magical macguffin shard. Nobody is bringing up the hows and whys in the comic, so don't worry about it.

Yeah. For some reason I enjoyed the humor coming out of the character's mouth, but none of the stuff at the bottom.

I'll give the footnotes another shot next issue. At least they couldn't have made them easier to avoid.

Today's Action Comics #40.

Context: Previously, Superman had been in a big crossover where Doomsday had inhabited his body. Superman ended the story deep in space and came back to Earth with a rockin' beard. The beard has defined Greg Pak and Aaron Kuder's Superman for about six months.
Now he inexplicably finds himself on Bizzaro World (for the first time NEW 52!) The place is fuckin' crazy. The Bizzaro Justice League is beating everyone up and trashing the place and the Bizzaro populous loves it.
Inexplicably, Doomsday turns up and Bizzaro gets into the same trouble Superman did.

Wait, was Ryan Choi like, in his bloodstream or something?

Okay...

Ray Palmer had been going crazy under a domed city for a year, hearing voices with his only remaining power being to enlarge his hand.
Turns out Ryan was trapped in something like what shrinking guys have instead of the speed force. I think he called it the "mass dimension" (no idea if that was made up for this comic) and Ray's schizophrenia was Ryan's voice and his inflat-o hand was Ryan lending him his mass.
That page is how Ray let Ryan get out, and later Ryan grows Ray's hand back by stealing the mass from Deathstroke's, making them all tiny.

Yup.

Yeah. It's filled with stuff like candidates having to appear on terrible vlogger shows since that's all people watch in the future.
The main character is a teen girl who's getting elected president because she accidentally became a dumb meme.

The only bit I didn't love was giving Anonymous a part, but I guess DC does own that V mask.
