I want to go to Gen Con. I didn't fully understand the hotel issue. I have a car, and will most likely be driving from NC. How terrible is parking near the Con? I can actually walk around without dying, if that is important.

My hotel booking experience was painless. $92 a night, and since I'm driving 11 hours to Indy instead of flying like a money haver, I have my own transportation!  What's another 15 miles?I'm just glad that I decided 2 weeks ago that "goddamnit, THIS IS THE YEAR" and I have literally everything taken care of.

So, this will be my first GenCon. I have my badge, I have my hotel, and I have my transportation. Can someone give me the down low on how event tickets work? How crazy is it (usually) to get into specific events? How many generic tickets should I get on principle? I know of a few specific events I'm going to want to participate in (FFG stuff, mostly) but the rest of the show is a mystery to me. HALP HOW DO I GENCON

I hosed up, and since I got called in to work this morning I forgot all about event registration. The biggest thing on my wishlist that I wanted was the AGoT LCG Kingslayer Tourney, and of course I missed it. What is a good rule of thumb for generic tickets? Will I be able to buy some on location? I don't want to go overboard since I have absolutely no touchstone for this.

I have a (semi large) group of friends and co-workers that want in on the ground floor of GoT. I have a feeling a.) they will be dissapointed, or b.) I'm going to get mugged while trying to carry 8+ boxes to my car. I'm gonna get mugged, aren't I?

Hey fellow goonbros! If you aren't in the groupme, I have room in my hotel if you were surfing someones floor. Sofa bed!Regular showers are required! Own transportation is a plus: its at the Clarion Inn and Suites Northwest of you want to map it out. Pretty sure the shuttle hits there or nearby if transportation would be an issue for you. I'm going to be so lonely

I met and talked with Rodney of Watch it Played fame for about 10 minutes or so about AGoT 2nd Ed. Great guy, and just as nice in person. I wanna play games with that dude. He's a goon, but doesn't post/lurk much.

I parked at Lucas Stadium the whole weekend. All day parking cost 10 bucks a day, with the exception being Friday when they're was a One Direction concert. That day it was 25 bucks. If you pay mote than that your spot better be within a block of the ICC or you are paying too much.

It was really convenient. I left the lot at close to 3 am most nights and it wasn't an issue. Bring an umbrella I guess? Or never rained, but that's the only real issue. Most of your walk is down the big rear end corridor inside the ICC so even then it's like a block outside, max. It's where I'm parking next year.

Grab what you can/what you can afford with the housing lottery. I got a decent, quiet 92 a night room about 20 minutes drive from ICC. It was inconvenient to have to drive instead of just walking out of my hotel room door to get to the convention, but I was part of #CarCrew2015 so driving wasn't an issue.

Groupme should be a GenGoon requirement. Holy poo poo, it's a hell of a resource, and goon networking got people some hard to get products, beat lines, and made awkward eating arrangements far less awkward. When goons aren't the loving worst, they are the best.
