Just got out of seeing this and as someone who read the novel, I was expecting a little more humor (don't get me wrong there's a good bit), and extravagantness, but for the most part the adaptation was pretty faithful. I just felt like the pacing seemed a little off. Will definitely want to see it again.

I think that most people going into it are going to be scratching their heads a bit if they aren't familiar with Pynchon. It is pretty accessible, but still feels like there's a lot to digest as characters come and go in the story.
