Honestly I think the VN thread discussed everything there was to discuss. There is really not that many decent/translated ones. And now theres a type moon thread so  That said it is fun to see newcomers reactions.

I, for one, am happy that one can't become a mod simply by asking over and over again really hard for it, since that would've set an absolutely terrible precedent. Oh, yes, what is your policy on scanlations for manga / fansubs for anime? Is it okay, or not okay to post them?

I'm gonna keep the same policy as Zorak for that one actually. If it hasn't been officially licensed, go ahead. Otherwise, I do not want to hear that you are illegally downloading episodes of JoJo's BIzarre Adventure after Crunchyroll and Viz have painstakingly acquired the licenses and made them accessible to the general public.

Right, but for certain popular manga, like Bleach and so on, people tend to post links to scans well in advance of when they appear on VIZ Alpha. What's the ruling on that? If we were being picky on that, I'd imagine they'd be haraam too, since the mangas have been licensed for a long time now.
