As a military spouse of many years, it has been engrained in me to not give out information. No one should know if/when your soldier is deployed and pictures of soldier in uniform should not be on social media. You can never be too careful, and that's not just protecting yourself from ISIS. There are lots of people who take advantage of military families, not just ISIS or their sympathizers. I am a proud military wife but I do not announce my husband's job, career, deployments, comings or goings. Some thing you just don't discuss or share for the protection of your family.

they want validation and recognition that they are the squirrel from that fable, that they're a Wise Provider Planning For Their Family. there's also an implicit condemnation of society at large via their very existence. YEAH WELL IM HERE AND I RAISE GOATS FOR THE APOCALYPSE. #MAKESUTHINK

theres a guy who built a sentry thing on top of he house w/ no forethought to the literal thousands of pounds of sand that his foundation would have to support. he got the sand idea from soldiers in iraq apparently.

i think the government needs to be more aggressive about helping people with no restrictions

just give everybody benefits, gently caress income caps and limits and whatever

if everybody gets it, people won't be so against things

eventually, whatever, stuff happens, then BOOM universial techno-socialist utopia

"What I tell people is, if you look like me and you hop out of your truck, you shouldn't be getting a disability check. Over half of the people on disability are either anxious or their back hurts -- join the club," he said, drawing a few laughs from the audience. "Who doesn't get a little anxious for work everyday and their back hurts? Everybody over 40 has back pain."

why would people who take the time and expense to film a series of tv programs allow any aspect of the production be up to chance?

do you really think that tv production companies are all so blase that they would just shrug their shoulders if a team of producers came back to them and said "yeah, turns out nothing funny/interesting happened during this shoot so we've got nothing"?

somehow i doubt it

karl seemed a lot more normal ~10 years ago when he worked on gervais's old radio show (iirc he was station producer or something, so he can't be that retarded).

there's stuff from the radio shows that got recycled into the podcasts they did and acted as if it were new. then they recycled it again for idiot abroad so some of that stuff is third-hand by now, and yet karl acts like he's never seen or heard it before.

i dont mean it was a surprise to the production crew, just karl (and its hard to read him since he seems to generally be unaware of literally everything)

its still a funny show and surprisngly well done from a production aspect anyway

also it's so weird that they have high def footage from 'security cameras' and other places that would be impossible to get to without hours of set up virtually everywhere they go, including all the places that their tour guide, who is 'not in on it' leads them to.
