Greens would no longer exist if they supported National.

In actual politics, the Herald and stuff have both broken bits of a fairly damning story about how underfunding in road policing has lead to a massive increase in road fatalities in Auckland e: and in joke politics, David Seymour is a terrible dancer and watching him make a fool out of himself on DWTS is v funny because he looks so ridiculous voiceless anal fricative fucked around with this message at 10:21 on May 27, 2018 |

Xik posted:Greens would no longer exist if they supported National. I think it'd be worth offering a deal, say Greens get to be PM, get half the ministers, and write the budget. In exchange, Labour are kept out. After all, that's National's core reason to exist.

National's core reason to exist is to be in power. Keeping Labour out just happens to be the only way of achieving that due to our lack of party diversity.

Xik posted:My post was supposed to be a reply to yours, party died when they sided with a white collar criminal. At the 2008 election, Hone Harawira kept Kelvin Davis out by around 6300 or so votes, under the Maori Party banner. At the 2011 by-election, Harawira retained the seat by 1000-odd votes (IIRC, this was triggered by his leaving the Maori Party), and later that year, retained the seat by a similar margin. At the 2014 election, Kelvin Davis took the seat by around 800 votes, and retained it by almost 5000. If Mana have a chance of getting back in, it'll be via Harawira taking one of the Maori electorate seats, and honestly, I don't think he'll be doing it in Te Tai Tokerau. I can see the Maori Party sneaking back into Parliament in 2020, but I wonder how many people would be thinking about Marama Fox's embarrassing display the day after the election. A strong candidate could potentially take the Waiariki seat off of Tamati Coffey, but it'll have to be someone pretty important to Te Arawa. edogawa rando fucked around with this message at 05:13 on May 28, 2018 |

Idk, Tamati Coffey is one of Labour's rising stars I reckon. If he can hold Waiariki it wouldn't surprise me to see him in cabinet next time.

Id always found it a little odd that I had never heard of the meth exposure thing in the USA. I remember an acquittance who worked in home cleaning attending a talk on the issue when it was at the beginning of the craze. Anyways what an outrage so many vulnerable people would have been affected by this
