You Am I posted:The Atherton era was a pretty low one for England. He has ankylosing spondylitis, and played with it most of his career. That is why he missed all those test matches waking up with a "stiff back".

I blame Mark Nicholas for introducing the term "square cover" into the lexicon of bad cricket commentary. You can be square in the covers or at cover point, but there is no such fielding position as square cover.

The problem was that NZ peaked too early whereas Australia gained momentum throughout the tournament etc etc and all that bs. I propose we solve this at the next WC by having the final on the opening day and work our way back to the group stages over no less than 40 days.
